Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has an “internal threat” of another kind as a life-threatning leopard entered the premises of his official residence here, officials said.
Mr Gilani, who has been warned by the Taliban to stop military operation in the Swat and Malakand districts, has asked the security officials to get hold of the wild leopard before it inflicts any damage. “The Prime Minister wants the security to catch the leopard live and then shift it to the wildlife department,” an official at the Prime Minister’s House said to a news agency. “The security officials spent several hours on Monday to catch the beast but failed. They are seeking the permission to shoot it”, the officials added.
Another official said the Prime Minister’s office wants the wildlife department to make arrangements to catch the leopard live. “The Prime Minister does not want to kill the leopard. He thinks it will be inhuman. The leopard has come from the nearby jungle. It is wild and has not fled from any zoo”, he said.
