Gerrard leaves a legend

Long-serving Liverpool captain Steve Gerrard bade a bittersweet farewell to Anfield on Saturday following a 3-1 English Premier League loss to Crystal Palace in his final home game for the club. After almost 17 years of service, 709 appearances, 185 goals and 10 trophies, the 34-year-old midfielder had hoped to sign off on a winning note before joining the Los Angeles Galaxy in Jul. But although Adam Lallana put Liverpool ahead, goals from Jason Puncheon and substitutes Wilfried Zaha and Glenn Murray ruined the script as Palace claimed a first league win at Anfield since November 1991.

Addressing the fans on the pitch after the game, Gerrard said “It felt strange. I’ve been dreading this moment. I’m going to miss it so much. I’ve loved every minute. I’m absolutely devastated I’m never going to play in front of these supporters again.” He added “I’d like to thank everyone at the club who’s has helped me over the last 17 years. There are too many people to name.”

Gerard went on “I would like to thank all my teammates, all the ex-players. They’ve made me the player I am today. I’ll save the last thanks to he most important people at the football club. These supporters stand out more than anyone. Before I go, before the tears come, I’ve played in front of more supporters around the world but let me tell you; you’re the best.”

Looking for a truss rod cover?

I still remember the day when I got my Gibson les paul guitar about 5 years ago and even to this day, it is my favorite. I just cannot live without it and there is no way that I will part with it. Strangely, a couple of weeks ago, the truss rod got slightly damaged and that created a problem. While I did not want to replace the guitar, there were a very few options to replace the truss rod. None of them offered a quality replacement. At that moment, I happened to meet a friend who directed me to one of the popular and largest online website that sell thousands of music and music related accessories.

I began to look for a new truss rod cover and I was so happy, I got a brand new truss cover for my Gibson. Nepal shuts airport to big jets

Runway damage forced Nepalese authorities to close its main airport on Sunday to large aircraft delivering aid to the quake hit, but UN officials said the overall logistics situation was improving. The death toll climbed to 7057, including 6 foreigners and 45 Nepalese, found over the weekend on a popular trekking quote, said government administrator Gautam Rimal. The victims included a French national, an Indian, four other foreigners and Nepalese guides, hotel owners, workers and porters. The main runway got damaged since it was built to handle only medium-size jetliners and not the large military and cargo planes that hve been flying in aid supplies, said Birendra Shrestha, the manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

Despite the setback, UN coordinator for Nepal Jamie McGoldrick said the bottlenecks in aid delivery were slowly disappearing. “I think the problem is there, but it’s actually diminishing,” he said, adding that the government eased customs and other bureaucratic hurdles on humanitarian aid following heir complaints. UN officials said that they were worried about the spread of disease and voiced for more helicopters, which are needed to reach isolated mountain villages.
